After 16 played minutes Malta AD got a freekick which was hit by Gonçalo Teixeira. A collision led to Pedras AD getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Nicolas Prestes hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cássio Catarinense in the 19th minute of play forced Malta AD's goalkeeper Rafa Capixaba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gonçalo Teixeira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 24 minutes into the game, Pedras AD's Cássio Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rafa Capixaba made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Rafa Capixaba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Catarinense in the 28th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Malta AD's Virgílio Saraiva got a free kick in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, Malta AD's goal looked a bit too open when Túlio Mazza came free, but Rafa Capixaba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafa Capixaba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Gonçalo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Pedras AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Malta AD the free kick. A collision led to Pedras AD getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Túlio Mazza hit a great ball. Lúcio Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guilherme Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Gonçalo Teixeira scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lúcio Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Gonçalo Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th play minute Cássio Catarinense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rafa Capixaba. 1-2. 93 minutes into the match, Cássio Catarinense notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Malta AD's Rafa Capixaba. Rafa Capixaba was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
