Paulo José França didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibiahy FC. In the 5th play minute Edgard Cearense came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Paulo José França. 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Ruy Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. VECTRA FUTEBOL CLUBE's supporters rose to their feet, but Ruy Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vágner Gaúcho kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. In the 16th minute, Edgard Cearense ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo José França was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. When Giuseppe Quadros fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored VECTRA FUTEBOL CLUBE's protests and gave Giuseppe Quadros a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpected shot in the 24th minute by Juan Correia got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 34th minute, Romário de Lima left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The VECTRA FUTEBOL CLUBE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Juan Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José França having to interfere. Bruninho Cearense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário de Lima in the 48th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Romário de Lima to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute the ball was on its way in behind VECTRA FUTEBOL CLUBE's goalkeeper Paulo José França, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Romário de Lima's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruninho Cearense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 57th minute Edgard Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José França saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bruninho Cearense made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ruy Alcântara in the 62nd minute. If Juan Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute, Juan Correia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paulo José França was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. VECTRA FUTEBOL CLUBE's Paulo José França played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Cearense in the 78th minute of play. Ruy Alcântara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Bruninho Cearense made a huge save. When Sebastião Tepedino came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Ibiahy FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sebastião Tepedino couldn't finish the play. Juan Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo José França having to interfere. If Ruy Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th minute, Armandinho Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ibiahy FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
