The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Osvaldinho Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Alex Saraiva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 6th minute, Osvaldinho Cearense made a precise shot to the right of Alex Saraiva. Grajahu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Valdemar Marinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Conrado da Mata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Conrado da Mata in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Valdemar Marinho saved Sport Club Indaiatuba from getting behind. In the 12th minute, Amadeu Macedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sport Club Indaiatuba fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hernani Mumbach in the 18th minute of play forced Sport Club Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Valdemar Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Amadeu Macedo got free with Alex Saraiva in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alex Saraiva acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 30th minute, took the ball on the long shot from João Carlos Vale. Osvaldinho Cearense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alex Saraiva having to make a save. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Grajahu's goalkeeper Alex Saraiva, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Osvaldinho Cearense in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alex Saraiva saved Grajahu from getting behind. After having played for 39 minutes, Amadeu Macedo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Club Indaiatuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeu Macedo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alex Saraiva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Osvaldinho Cearense in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Osvaldinho Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Saraiva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Osvaldinho Cearense struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Alex Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Club Indaiatuba.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Osvaldinho Cearense stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 57 minutes into the match, Grajahu's goal looked a bit too open when Osvaldinho Cearense came free, but Alex Saraiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elano Pimenta's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alex Saraiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Sport Club Indaiatuba's Osvaldinho Cearense got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valdo Ceresso during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Valdo Ceresso hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Osvaldinho Cearense took the ball and in the 68 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alex Saraiva. Alex Saraiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. After having played for 70 minutes, Elano Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Club Indaiatuba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elano Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the game, João Carlos Vale was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Indaiatuba's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Grajahu the free kick. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Indaiatuba's João Carlos Vale got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After 84 minutes of play, Sport Club Indaiatuba's Osvaldinho Cearense made it 6-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alex Saraiva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Osvaldinho Cearense might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alex Saraiva. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Osvaldinho Cearense ran back to his position shaking his head. There was no doubt that Sport Club Indaiatuba were the better team. Sport Club Indaiatuba's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
