The Toriba fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Toriba's Silas Pinheiro looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gualter de Queiroz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Délio Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Silas Pinheiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Valdemar Marinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 13 minutes into the match, Afonso de Salles notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Sport Club Indaiatuba's Valdemar Marinho. Valdemar Marinho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Osvaldinho Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Elano Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Osvaldinho Cearense's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gualter de Queiroz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute, Elano Pimenta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sport Club Indaiatuba's Valdemar Marinho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silas Pinheiro in the 34th minute of play. Amadeu Macedo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Gualter de Queiroz made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, Toriba's Silas Pinheiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Valdemar Marinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Osvaldinho Cearense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter de Queiroz having to interfere. Valdemar Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silas Pinheiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

Miguel Vides hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Valdemar Marinho made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Alberto Lara sent off a good shot on target. Elano Pimenta's late challenge caught a Toriba's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elano Pimenta helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Toriba booed when Sport Club Indaiatuba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elano Pimenta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sport Club Indaiatuba's Valdemar Marinho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Sport Club Indaiatuba from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amadeu Macedo in the 68th minute of play forced Toriba's goalkeeper Gualter de Queiroz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gualter de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Porto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 72nd minute, João Carlos Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Toriba getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Evaristo Lucas hit a great ball. Alberto Lara could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Valdemar Marinho made a huge save. 91 minutes into the match, Sport Club Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Valdemar Marinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alberto Lara. Alberto Lara hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. When Elano Pimenta came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Sport Club Indaiatuba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elano Pimenta couldn't finish the play.
