Daniel Lopez hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Jefferson Pombal sped through Guloso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hílton Coutinho. Hílton Coutinho didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jefferson Pombal went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 12th minute, Guloso's Noel Moura dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. Duda Sampaio hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 21st minute Cléberson Lara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquim Alvarenga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Genílson Romero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Lopez in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hílton Coutinho saved Guloso from getting behind. Téo Maia came free with the goalkeeper in the 27th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquim Alvarenga could save by the left post. After having played for 28 minutes, Daniel Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. S. E. Palestra's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Lopez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hílton Coutinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jefferson Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duda Sampaio charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Duda Sampaio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 37 minutes into the game, Cléberson Lara was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guloso's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave S. E. Palestra the free kick. In the 39th minute, Jefferson Pombal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hílton Coutinho was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. S. E. Palestra's Joaquim Alvarenga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save S. E. Palestra from getting a goal against them. 45 minutes into the match, Guloso's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Lopez came free, but Hílton Coutinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jefferson Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Coutinho having to interfere.
The wind increased when Jefferson Pombal made the kick off in the second half. Guloso's Leandro Rezende got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 55th minute, Jefferson Pombal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match clock showed 59 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Daniel Lopez sped through Guloso's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Hílton Coutinho. Guloso's defense didn't have a chance, in the 62nd minute, when Daniel Lopez scored to the left of an out of position Hílton Coutinho, making the score, 1-5. After 65 played minutes Guloso got a freekick which was hit by Dorian Melo. Dorian Melo's late challenge caught a S. E. Palestra's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dorian Melo helped the player get up and apologised. In the 66th minute, one of Guloso:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Guloso. 72 minutes into the match, S. E. Palestra's Jefferson Pombal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hílton Coutinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jefferson Pombal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hílton Coutinho having to interfere. After 77 played minutes Guloso got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Rezende. 80 minutes into the match, S. E. Palestra's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Moura came free, but Joaquim Alvarenga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Noel Moura in the 83rd minute of play forced S. E. Palestra's goalkeeper Joaquim Alvarenga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim Alvarenga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Téo Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Téo Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Joaquim Alvarenga tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. S. E. Palestra's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
