Emerson Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by Cacu AD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Vito Faria was slow to take the kick. During this time Sport Club Corinta Mineir's players had a chance to rest. Olavo Britto made a great header on Sport Club Corinta Mineir's corner, it was just that Cacu AD's Jerônimo Mattos managed to reach the ball for a save. Sílvio Luiz de Salless short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Jerônimo Mattos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. A collision led to Sport Club Corinta Mineir getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Vito Faria hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the game, Cacu AD's Aírton Macedo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rony Viana made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. In the 38thth minute of the game Aírton Macedo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sport Club Corinta Mineir's Rony Viana was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Geraldo Azevedo's late challenge caught a Sport Club Corinta Mineir's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraldo Azevedo helped the player get up and apologised. After 41 played minutes Cacu AD got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Azevedo. If Dito Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sílvio Luiz de Salles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jerônimo Mattos made a huge save. In the 48th minute, João Adolfo Ceresso sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sport Club Corinta Mineir's Rony Viana didn't even have to move. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aírton Macedo to make the kick off. Dito Vaz scored 1-2 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jerônimo Mattos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 90 minutes in the game, Toninho Bezerra fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Rony Viana having to interfere.
