Basílio Alcântara's late challenge caught a Gurjao EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Basílio Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Gugu Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gurjao EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Sabóia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Los Bacanas F.C. booed when Gurjao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gugu Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 16th minute of the match, Durval Melo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Washington Félix saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The audience was convinced that Reinaldo Antunes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquim Sabóia was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Joaquim Sabóia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aluísio Cunha in the 24th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Los Bacanas F.C.'s Aníbal Neto tried to score from far away in the 30th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Los Bacanas F.C.'s Délio Peixoto got a free kick in the 32nd minute. After having played for 33 minutes, Carlos Fernando Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gurjao EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Fernando Pimenta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frederico Rosado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 38 played minutes, Los Bacanas F.C.'s Basílio Alcântara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Washington Félix came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Los Bacanas F.C. reached it. 42 minutes into the match, Los Bacanas F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Luz came free, but Joaquim Sabóia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Los Bacanas F.C.'s Joaquim Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reinaldo Antunes in the 45th minute of play. 46 minutes into the match, Los Bacanas F.C.'s Frederico Rosado sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Washington Félix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gugu Luz stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquim Sabóia was a little too slow when Reinaldo Antunes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 55th minute. The score was now 0-1. Sandro Tepedino hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. In the 59th minute of the match Aníbal Neto shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Washington Félix showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Durval Melo in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Washington Félix saved Gurjao EC from getting behind. In the 69th minute Frederico Rosado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington Félix saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Washington Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 76 minutes into the game, Gugu Luz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Joaquim Sabóia. Gugu Luz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Los Bacanas F.C.'s Joaquim Sabóia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donatello Cabral in the 80th minute of play. Washington Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. When Gugu Luz fell near the penalty area in the 83rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gurjao EC's protests and gave Gugu Luz a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd match minute, Gurjao EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gugu Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute, Durval Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frederico Rosado scored 1-3 in the 85th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Washington Félix, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Zé Pedro Medeiros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Los Bacanas F.C.'s Joaquim Sabóia proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Los Bacanas F.C. from getting a goal against them. The Los Bacanas F.C. fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gurjao EC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
