The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luciano Baptista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juras Jonušas in the 3rd minute. Henrique Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luizinho de Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. A wasted opportunity for Jutahy. 23 minutes into the match, Jutahy's goal looked a bit too open when Nelson Valladares came free, but Henrique Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Jutahy's zone, Nelson Valladares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Henrique Costa came out of the goal and Nelson Valladares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Juras Jonušas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Jutahy's Vito da Cunha got a free kick in the 36th minute. Jutahy's Henrique Costa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho Massa in the 40th minute of play. If Luizinho de Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Henrique Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizinho de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Nelson Valladares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henrique Costa having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Florida SC's Mazinho Massa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henrique Costa. That made the score 0-1 after 62 minutes of play. Luciano Baptista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juras Jonušas in the 67th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luizinho de Carvalho in the 69th minute of play forced Jutahy's goalkeeper Henrique Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nelson Valladares got free with Henrique Costa in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 75 minutes into the match, Luizinho de Carvalho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Henrique Costa, 0-2. Mazinho Massa hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Henrique Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizinho de Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
