If Adrianinho Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41stth minute of the game Rubinho das Neves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Magdalena's Víktor Sampaio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 44th minute, Durvalino Simões managed to get in a good position for a shot. Magdalena's supporters rose to their feet, but Durvalino Simões was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juninho Antunes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Borgueto's Gildo Amorim got a free kick in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Adrianinho Vieira made a kick off. The supporters of Borgueto booed when Magdalena was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Paulo Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the game, João Carlos Brito cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Juninho Antunes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. João Carlos Brito sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out.
