After having played for 14 minutes, Walmir de Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Canela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Walmir de Queirós was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wilian Quintal charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wilian Quintal the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wilian Quintal hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. If Wilian Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alessandro Maia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Walmir de Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Hermínio Dantas made a precise shot to the right of Alessandro Maia. Itariry's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmir de Queirós in the 32nd minute of play forced Itariry's goalkeeper Alessandro Maia to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Walmir de Queirós fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alessandro Maia having to interfere. If Walmir de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Itariry's zone, Yuri Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Maia came out of the goal and Yuri Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the game, Wilian Quintal cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Luís Guilherme Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The wind increased when Walmir de Queirós made the kick off in the second half. Cléberson Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Luís Guilherme Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aloísio Dantas kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Luís Guilherme Diniz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Quintal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hermínio Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wilian Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Guilherme Diniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléberson Gonçalves in the 66th minute of the match. Luís Guilherme Diniz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilian Quintal in the 69th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Itariry's zone, Walmir de Queirós stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alessandro Maia came out of the goal and Walmir de Queirós tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 73 played minutes Itariry got a freekick which was hit by Edgard Mineiro. Wilian Quintal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Guilherme Diniz having to make a save. Rubinho Peres hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Itariry's Valério Dracena broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Cléberson Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Guilherme Diniz having to interfere. Wilian Quintal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Hermínio Dantas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 91stth minute, Alessandro Maia skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. 96 minutes into the match, Itariry's goal looked a bit too open when Walmir de Queirós came free, but Alessandro Maia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
