Armandinho Pirani's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Donato de Andrade firmly grabbed it by the left post. Edgar Arantes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato de Andrade having to make a save. Armandinho Pirani struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Donato de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guanamby. 28 minutes into the game, Felippe Bittencourt was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guanamby's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Calambau the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Guanamby:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Calambau:s goal. In the 34th minute of the match, Edgar Arantes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Donato de Andrade saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After having played for 39 minutes, Armandinho Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guanamby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armandinho Pirani was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armandinho Pirani struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Donato de Andrade didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guanamby. Donato de Andrade came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Guanamby's Armandinho Pirani. But to his dismay, Armandinho Pirani quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Calambau's Luís Eduardo Medeiros got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgar Arantes in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Donato de Andrade saved Calambau from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Wilian Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Calambau's supporters rose to their feet, but Wilian Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrão de Sena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edinho Torres hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Guanamby got a corner. Calambau's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felippe Bittencourt ran over to the corner to take the kick. After 79 minutes, Nilton do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calambau and the Guanamby players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Guanamby booed when Calambau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Christiano Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedrão de Sena having to interfere. After 83 minutes, Wilian Soares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Calambau and the Guanamby players grew even worse after the yellow card.
