The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldir Duarte during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Gaviaozinho SC's Waldir Duarte got a free kick in the 17th minute. Júnior Fonseca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Almir Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sydney Cordeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Júnior Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Ajax FC's zone, Erasmo Mineiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hernani Rosa came out of the goal and Erasmo Mineiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Júnior Fonseca succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Sydney Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Leão having to interfere. Almir Leão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sydney Cordeiro in the 38th minute of play. Gaviaozinho SC's Almir Leão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sydney Cordeiro in the 40th minute of play. Nico Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nico Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nico Valladares kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Luís Fernando Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hernani Rosa having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Ajax FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luís Fernando Sampaio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

After a defensive mix-up in Gaviaozinho SC's zone, Sydney Cordeiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Leão came out of the goal and Sydney Cordeiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Ajax FC booed when Gaviaozinho SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jacinto Vergílio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Sydney Cordeiro could shoot a difficult shot in the 74th minute, which Almir Leão however easily saved by the left post. Gaviaozinho SC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Júnior Fonseca 75 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. 80 minutes into the match, Gaviaozinho SC's goal looked a bit too open when Júnior Fonseca came free, but Almir Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sydney Cordeiro in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Almir Leão, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sydney Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Almir Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Almir Leão made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Patrick Novaes sent off a good shot on target. Luís Fernando Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Hernani Rosa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
