The Sabia EC fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Sabia EC's Edgard Lopez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. A collision led to Camisao SC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Basílio Santos hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the match Evandro de Alcântara shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rafael Goiano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Eduardo Meira in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rafael Goiano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dênis Matorin in the 23rd minute of play forced Sabia EC's goalkeeper Ismael Fontes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rafael Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Camisao SC's Róbson Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Dênis Matorin reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ismael Fontes. The goal made the score 1-2. The supporters of Sabia EC booed when Camisao SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camisao SC's Rafael Goiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Eduardo Meira in the 41st minute of play. Edgard Lopez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Rafael Goiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgard Lopez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Goiano having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgard Lopez in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rafael Goiano saved Camisao SC from getting behind. Rafael Goiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Eduardo Meira in the 80th minute of play. Vladimir Brasil kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Rafael Goiano made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Luiz Eduardo Meira sent off a good shot on target. 88 minutes into the match, Camisao SC's goal looked a bit too open when Edgard Lopez came free, but Rafael Goiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
