Horácio Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vitinho Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. The supporters of Comercial FC booed when O Líder das Excursões was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Augusto Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho Saraiva in the 46th minute of play forced Comercial FC's goalkeeper Horácio Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horácio Mazza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vitinho Saraiva in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Comercial FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vitinho Saraiva to strike the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes O Líder das Excursões got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Vinhas. Vitinho Correia struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Guto Maranhense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Comercial FC. If Vitinho Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano Paraibano got free with Guto Maranhense in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, José Baiano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Comercial FC's supporters rose to their feet, but José Baiano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Maranhense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Acácio Vinhas in the 72nd minute of play forced Comercial FC's goalkeeper Horácio Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristiano Paraibano got free with Guto Maranhense in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rodriguinho Pernambucano kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Guto Maranhense showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jacinto Paes in the 82nd minute of the match. The O Líder das Excursões fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guto Maranhense should have stopped the shot. Luís Eduardo Netto charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Luís Eduardo Netto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Luís Eduardo Netto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The O Líder das Excursões fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Comercial FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
