When Paulo Renato Mattos fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Neves's protests and gave Paulo Renato Mattos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Fábio de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Neves's Zé Roberto Barral got a free kick in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ademar Perez in the 30th minute of play forced Neves's goalkeeper Reinaldo Recife to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fábio de Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reinaldo Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Perez in the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Fábio de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Ademar Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valür FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademar Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Reinaldo Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Neves's Frederico Silveira got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 59th minute, Fábio de Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 71 minutes, Fábio de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Valür FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fábio de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ademar Perez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Recife having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fábio de Brito in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinaldo Recife prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Valür FC's Edgard de Godoi got a free kick in the 75th minute. After 81 minutes of play, Valür FC's Ademar Perez made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Reinaldo Recife was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Ademar Perez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Valür FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ademar Perez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
