Gilberto Albuquerque who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 85thth minute tested the skills of Gerson Meireles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arnaldo Dante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerson Meireles having to interfere. Gilberto Albuquerque struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Gerson Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Guarani FC. Guarani FC played a much better game than Taiba and deserved their victory. The Taiba players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
