Claudinei Nogueira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 8th minute of the match, but Túlio Travassos made a huge save. If Tony Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Tony Pires came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Gerencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Pires couldn't finish the play. Manoel Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 17th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Manoel Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Tony Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nitero SS's Manoel Mazza got his second yellow card of the match in the 25th minute. The referee ordered Manoel Mazza off the ground. After a rather tough play, Nitero SS's Manoel Mazza got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 27 played minutes, Gerencia's Edgar de Amaral shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tarcisio Leme came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gerencia reached it. Zé Antunes might have been able to make a better finish in the 43rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tarcisio Leme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Antunes ran back to his position shaking his head. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudinei Nogueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Tony Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Leme having to interfere. After 56 played minutes Nitero SS got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro Moura. Tony Pires received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Tarcisio Leme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Tony Pires got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Zé Antunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tarcisio Leme having to interfere. Tarcisio Leme made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Tony Pires sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Nitero SS's Tarcisio Leme got control of the ball when Tony Pires tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Tony Pires had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Zé Antunes dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tarcisio Leme, 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jeferson Salgado during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gerencia booed when Nitero SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeferson Salgado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tarcisio Leme came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Gerencia's Tony Pires. But to his dismay, Tony Pires quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. The Nitero SS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Gerencia were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
