In the 17th match minute, Altair SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo Vale to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Fernandez's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 21stth minute, Haroldo de Carvalho skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Vânderson Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Bittencourt having to make a save. Altair SC's Luan Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luan Bertassi to make the kick off. If Luan Bertassi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 57th minute Luan Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldo de Carvalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Dida Sampaio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guapiassu AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Dida Sampaio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benedito Bittencourt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Altair SC's zone, Dida Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Bittencourt came out of the goal and Dida Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Cléberson Vaz fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Altair SC's protests and gave Cléberson Vaz a yellow card for diving instead. If Dida Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 68 in the game by Vânderson Lopes from a close distance when the talented Benedito Bittencourt managed to make a qualified save. After 74 played minutes Altair SC got a freekick which was hit by Manfredo Vale. Altair SC's Benedito Bittencourt proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Altair SC from getting a goal against them. Délio Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Vânderson Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Benedito Bittencourt made a huge save. Eriberto Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Haroldo de Carvalho having to interfere. If Vânderson Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
