Michel Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Brenha AD's Raúl Meireles got a free kick in the 13th minute. Válter Domingues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roberto da Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Davi Lima's late challenge caught a Brenha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Davi Lima helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Augusto Freire kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Brenha AD's Válter Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davi Lima in the 44th minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elivélton Maranhense to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perivaldo de Senna in the 58th minute of play forced Viradoura's goalkeeper Michel Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Viradoura's Carlos Augusto Freire got a free kick in the 59th minute. After having played for 63 minutes, Elivélton Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brenha AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elivélton Maranhense was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th match minute, Viradoura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sílvio Luiz Eger to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Cristóvão Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brenha AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristóvão Baptista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Michel Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Viradoura's Carlos Augusto Freire got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After some careless play in the Viradoura defense, Elivélton Maranhense kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Michel Pena. The Viradoura fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Michel Pena should have stopped the shot. Viradoura's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Carlos Augusto Freire in the 82nd minute. Vito Matos's late challenge caught a Brenha AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vito Matos helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Viradoura got a freekick which was hit by Vito Matos. Michel Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elivélton Maranhense in the 88th minute of play. Válter Domingues made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wiliam de Medeiros in the 91st minute. Válter Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roberto da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 95 minutes into the match, Viradoura's goal looked a bit too open when Elivélton Maranhense came free, but Michel Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brenha AD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Viradoura for a fine match.
