Giovanni Reis made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Allan Motta sent off a good shot on target. 14 minutes into the match, Osmar Rezende notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Balco's Aníbal Donato. Aníbal Donato was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aníbal Donato took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Francisco de Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Claudinho Lago might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Giovanni Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Denílson Valle's late challenge caught a Ameliopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Denílson Valle helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Denílson Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Osmar Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Claudinho Lago was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute Claudinho Lago shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giovanni Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Allan Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Giovanni Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aníbal Donato showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Giovanni Reis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Allan Motta in the 91st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Claudinho Lago managed to get in a good position for a shot. Balco's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Lago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 99 minutes of play, Balco's Allan Motta made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Giovanni Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Balco fully deserved thier win.
