Santos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Durval Proença was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bruninho de Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Félix having to interfere. Nuno Hermes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Durval Proença came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Marila fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Durval Proença couldn't finish the play. Santos's Luan Lopes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Hermes in the 19th minute of play. If Durval Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruninho de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Durval Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Luan Lopes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Nuno Hermes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santos's Luan Lopes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Marila getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Dário Viana hit a great ball. If Durval Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nuno Hermes in the 41st minute of play forced Santos's goalkeeper Luan Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luan Lopes came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Marila's Durval Proença. But to his dismay, Durval Proença quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruninho de Andrade made a kick off. Nuno Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luan Lopes having to interfere. Otávio Monteiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Luan Lopes made a huge save. Luan Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nuno Hermes in the 61st minute. Luan Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Proença in the 63rd minute of play. When Baltazar Seco fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Santos's protests and gave Baltazar Seco a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th match minute, Santos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar Seco to maneuver through the defense. Durval Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luan Lopes having to interfere. Marila's Durval Proença got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Santos's Luan Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Santos from getting a goal against them. If Durval Proença had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 80 minutes into the match, Durval Proença dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Luan Lopes, 0-3. In the 86th minute Durval Proença shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luan Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luan Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Durval Proença in the 91st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruninho de Andrade during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marila played a much better game than Santos and deserved their victory. The Santos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
