Bebeto Cerezo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Villa Sinistra FC's Adilson Maranhense got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute Adilson Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bebeto Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alferez AD's Bebeto Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adilson Maranhense in the 16th minute of play. Lino Mesquita hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After 18 played minutes, Alferez AD's Gernando Veloso shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Wilton Oliveira came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Alferez AD reached it. In the 21st minute of the match, Dário Matorin got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilton Oliveira was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 30 minutes, Eduardo Lira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Villa Sinistra FC and the Alferez AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eduardo Lira kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Tomé de Carvalho was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 36 minutes into the match. Tomé de Carvalho hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Benedito Galvão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 38th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Adilson Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Almir Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Clóvis Moreno recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Wilton Oliveira. Clóvis Moreno showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dário Matorin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bebeto Cerezo made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Adilson Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. Walmyr Nascimento hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Bebeto Cerezo was out of position in the 55 minute of play, and Adilson Maranhense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adilson Maranhense really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Wilton Oliveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dário Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes Alferez AD got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Moreno. In the 72ndth minute of the game Adilson Maranhense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Alferez AD's Bebeto Cerezo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Adilson Maranhense had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 80th match minute, Villa Sinistra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Almir Falcão to maneuver through the defense. Villa Sinistra FC's Wilton Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Matorin in the 85th minute of play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Alferez AD's goalkeeper Bebeto Cerezo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Almir Falcão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 89th minute Dário Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilton Oliveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dário Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilton Oliveira having to interfere. In the 94th minute, Benedito Galvão reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bebeto Cerezo. The goal made the score 1-3. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Villa Sinistra FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
