Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Wellington de Queiroz took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, 1922 União Soviética URSS's Tadeu Vides sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jailson Toscano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jarbas Arósio hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Tadeu Vides struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Jailson Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 1922 União Soviética URSS. 11 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Tadeu Vides came free, but Jailson Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SC Internacional getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Jarbas Arósio hit a great ball. Oséas Martins came free with the goalkeeper in the 13th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jailson Toscano could save by the left post. In the 15th minute, Wellington de Queiroz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Celso Queirós was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Wellington de Queiroz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Celso Queirós was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Luís Paulo Freitas's late challenge caught a SC Internacional's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Paulo Freitas helped the player get up and apologised. 22 minutes into the game, Wellington de Queiroz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Internacional's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 1922 União Soviética URSS the free kick. A collision led to SC Internacional getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Wellington de Queiroz hit a great ball. Jailson Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu Vides in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Oséas Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SC Internacional's Jailson Toscano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tadeu Vides in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Wellington de Queiroz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oséas Martins received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Jailson Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SC Internacional getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Jarbas Arósio hit a great ball. Oséas Martins fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jailson Toscano having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Tadeu Vides got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The attack was good, but when Tadeu Vides in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

56 minutes into the match, 1922 União Soviética URSS's goal looked a bit too open when Wellington de Queiroz came free, but Celso Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Celso Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wellington de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Oséas Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jailson Toscano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oséas Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. After 70 played minutes SC Internacional got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Arósio. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tadeu Vides in the 72nd minute of play forced SC Internacional's goalkeeper Jailson Toscano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 74 minutes into the match, SC Internacional's goal looked a bit too open when Oséas Martins came free, but Jailson Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oséas Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 81 minutes, Tadeu Vides managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. 1922 União Soviética URSS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tadeu Vides was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jarbas Arósio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Celso Queirós read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Wellington de Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
