Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Flavinho Lopes started the match with the kick off. When Uruou EC's Chico Mandrak in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Apucaraninha AD's goalie prevented a goal. When Joel Baptista came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Uruou EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Baptista couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Apucaraninha AD booed when Uruou EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Baptista didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Chico Mandrak managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruou EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Mandrak was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lino Mesquita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Apucaraninha AD's goalkeeper Lino Mesquita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank Bastos kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 26 minutes into the game, Chico Mandrak recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lino Mesquita. Chico Mandrak showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Joel Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Lino Mesquita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The attack was good, but when Flavinho Lopes in the 33rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Flavinho Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 43 minutes into the game, Apucaraninha AD's Bernardo das Neves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Sidnei Pernambucano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. If Chico Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Chico Mandrak was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Apucaraninha AD's zone, Chico Mandrak stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Mesquita came out of the goal and Chico Mandrak tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 58 played minutes Apucaraninha AD got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldo Damião. When Flavinho Lopes came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Apucaraninha AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavinho Lopes couldn't finish the play. Sidnei Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Lopes in the 67th minute of the match. Apucaraninha AD's Lino Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Chico Mandrak in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Frank Bastos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Apucaraninha AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Bastos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sidnei Pernambucano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Flavinho Lopes in the 72nd minute of the match. If Chico Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Apucaraninha AD getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Ernani Dantas hit a great ball. Bernardo das Neves in the 90thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sidnei Pernambucano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Uruou EC's Renato Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
