Uruou EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ramón Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Meireles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guto Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Mandrak in the 22nd minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Chico Mandrak in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Guto Meireles prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 29th minute of the game, Pedro Luiz Bastos landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 30 played minutes Vilão FC got a freekick which was hit by Jarbas Vieira. Uruou EC's Sidnei Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Melo in the 31st minute of play. Evandro Abreu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Erivaldo Leme's late challenge caught a Uruou EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sidnei Pernambucano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarbas Vieira in the 68th minute of play. Emerson Alves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Sidnei Pernambucano. Uruou EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Chico Mandrak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Guto Meireles tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramiro Paes charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramiro Paes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chico Mandraks short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Guto Meireles to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Chico Mandrak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Meireles having to interfere. Vilão FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
