Ernani Dantas charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ernani Dantas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Apucaraninha AD getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Ernani Dantas hit a great ball. Apucaraninha AD's Lino Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Melo in the 30th minute of play. Guto Meireles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bernardo das Neves in the 36th minute of play. Flavinho Lopes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Guto Meireles having to make a save. Guto Meireles stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bernardo das Neves's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Flavinho Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Pedro Melo made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Vilão FC were awarded a corner. Emerson Alves went to the cornerflag to take it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bernardo das Neves got free with Guto Meireles in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Lino Mesquita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Pedro Melo in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Vilão FC's Guto Meireles got control of the ball when Bernardo das Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. Bernardo das Neves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 70thth minute tested the skills of Guto Meireles when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Apucaraninha AD's Lino Mesquita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Pedro Melo in the 72nd minute of play. Dida Rosado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lino Mesquita. Apucaraninha AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Frank Bastos's late challenge caught a Vilão FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Bastos helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Apucaraninha AD getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Frank Bastos hit a great ball. Emerson Alves, 84 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After a rather tough play, Apucaraninha AD's Diogo Quaresma got a free kick in the 86th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Apucaraninha AD's Flavinho Lopes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Guto Meireles. That made the score 0-2 after 89 minutes of play. The supporters of Vilão FC booed when Apucaraninha AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Bastos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Apucaraninha AD played a much better game than Vilão FC and deserved their victory. The Vilão FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
