Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joélson Capixaba ran back to his position shaking his head. Geraldo Cardozo's late challenge caught a Murupe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geraldo Cardozo helped the player get up and apologised. Geraldo Cardozo hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. In the 12th minute, Percival da Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronaldo de Sousa, 13 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After having played for 15 minutes, Aníbal Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuitelos SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aníbal Barbosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Murupe getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Kauã Brito hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 17 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Aníbal Barbosa sped through Murupe's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dênis Godoi. Murupe's Dênis Godoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gino Reis in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the game, Kauã Brito was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Murupe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cuitelos SS the free kick. Kauã Brito kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 28thth minute of the game Aníbal Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Murupe's Dênis Godoi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wiliam Dracena made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Joélson Capixaba sent off a good shot on target. Dênis Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gino Reis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gino Reis in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dênis Godoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39thth minute of the game Luan Mattos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuitelos SS's Wiliam Dracena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Wiliam Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luan Mattos in the 43rd minute of play. Aníbal Barbosa might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dênis Godoi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aníbal Barbosa ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Cuitelos SS booed when Murupe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jarbas Matorin didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The wind increased when Gino Reis made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match Cuitelos SS got a corner. Murupe's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Percival da Costa ran over to the corner to take the kick. Cuitelos SS's Percival da Costa was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dênis Godoi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Aníbal Barbosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Dênis Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind Murupe's goalkeeper Dênis Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Barbosa got free with Dênis Godoi in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gino Reis in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dênis Godoi saved Murupe from getting behind. Aníbal Barbosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 84 minutes, Adalberto Barral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Murupe and the Cuitelos SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 83rd minute of the game. One of Murupe:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Cuitelos SS:s goal. Luan Mattos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 97 minutes, Luan Mattos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Murupe and the Cuitelos SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Murupe getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Luan Mattos hit a great ball. 98 minutes into the match, Murupe's goal looked a bit too open when Gino Reis came free, but Dênis Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
