Nando Maranhense hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Amauri Severo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Maria Freire in the 7th minute of play. Juvenal Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Pitta, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 18th minute José Maria Freire shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amauri Severo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Roger Valadares had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amauri Severo. Rubro Negro - DF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roger Valadares was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. José Maria Freire fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Severo having to interfere. In a very dangerous position, a player in Rubro Negro - DF fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 32nd minute. Penalty! In the 33rd minute there was a penalty for Palotina. Adolfo Catarinense stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amauri Severo. 2-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling José Maria Freire in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amauri Severo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fernando Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juvenal Pinheiro having to interfere. In the 43rd match minute, Palotina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Velasco to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Palotina's zone, Rafinha Pitta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Juvenal Pinheiro came out of the goal and Rafinha Pitta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Palotina's Kléber Martins got a free kick in the 51st minute. Rafinha Pitta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Juvenal Pinheiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Roger Valadares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Amauri Severo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roger Valadares's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 74 minutes into the match, Rubro Negro - DF's goal looked a bit too open when Roger Valadares came free, but Amauri Severo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roger Valadares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amauri Severo having to interfere. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Palotina's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Ribeiro came free, but Juvenal Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Palotina's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
