Manfredo Bueno hit a great ball. Varzinha SS's Luciano Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Naldo Correia in the 15th minute of play. When Bebeto Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Varzinha SS's protests and gave Bebeto Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. Bebeto Nogueira kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jesuania's zone, Tadeu da Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho do Nascimento came out of the goal and Tadeu da Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernandinho do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tadeu da Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Duarte Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Correia in the 29th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Naldo Correia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luciano Brito was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. In the 30th match minute, Varzinha SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manfredo Bueno to maneuver through the defense. Duarte Miranda who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Fernandinho do Nascimento when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Geovani de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Jesuania defense, Tadeu da Silva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandinho do Nascimento. The Jesuania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandinho do Nascimento should have stopped the shot. In the 43rd minute, Jesuania's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Duarte Miranda fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tadeu da Silva to make the kick off. When Tadeu da Silva came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Varzinha SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tadeu da Silva couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Varzinha SS getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Manfredo Bueno hit a great ball. 55 minutes in the game Dino Dracena got a great opportunity which he missed by shooting outside the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Duarte Miranda in the 66th minute of play forced Jesuania's goalkeeper Fernandinho do Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fernandinho do Nascimento came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Varzinha SS's Tadeu da Silva. But to his dismay, Tadeu da Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. After a rather tough play, Jesuania's Albertinho Favoretto got a free kick in the 71st minute. If Duarte Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Duarte Miranda took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fernandinho do Nascimento. Fernandinho do Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Bebeto Nogueira was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Jesuania booed when Varzinha SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bebeto Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Duarte Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu da Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernandinho do Nascimento having to interfere. Fernandinho do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Duarte Miranda, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute, Tadeu da Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Jesuania's zone, Duarte Miranda stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fernandinho do Nascimento came out of the goal and Duarte Miranda tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the Jesuania defense, Geovani de Almeida kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fernandinho do Nascimento. The Jesuania fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fernandinho do Nascimento should have stopped the shot. Duarte Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Fernandinho do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
