The audience was convinced that Horácio Cordeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ademir Queiroz was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. 18 minutes into the match, Umbauba's Jailson Travassos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Silas Custódio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emerson Barbosa couldn't finish the play. After 30 played minutes SANTOS got a freekick which was hit by Miguel da Fonseca. When Wiliam de Lima came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the SANTOS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wiliam de Lima couldn't finish the play. In the 38th minute, Gilmar Pitta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Wiliam de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 45 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SANTOS! Silas Custódio had in the 46thth minute some difficulties stopping Edgard das Neves's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball In the 46th minute, Umbauba's Edgard das Neves ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Silas Custódio. Silas Custódio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jailson Travassos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Jailson Travassos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silas Custódio was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. In the 59th minute, Hélio Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, SANTOS's Wiliam de Lima dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-2. If Wiliam de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
