When Francisco Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Cidade Alta FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Sampaio couldn't finish the play. 14 minutes into the match, Cidade Alta FC's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Coutinho came free, but Nestor Paraíba reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 15th match minute, Cidade Alta FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anderson de Senna to maneuver through the defense. When Emerson de Senna fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cidade Alta FC's protests and gave Emerson de Senna a yellow card for diving instead. Emerson de Senna hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Hélio Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. The supporters of Cidade Alta FC booed when Buiuio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hernani Pinho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nestor Paraíba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Lopes in the 30th minute of play. Nestor Paraíba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelo Coutinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francisco Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Buiuio booed when Cidade Alta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinícius Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Angelo Coutinho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nestor Paraíba was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Lopes in the 39th minute of play forced Cidade Alta FC's goalkeeper Nestor Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Buiuio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edvaldo Bertassi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Percy de Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Nestor Paraíba didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buiuio. Hélio Torres's late challenge caught a Buiuio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hélio Torres helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Cidade Alta FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Hélio Torres hit a great ball. In the 64thth minute of the game Edvaldo Bertassi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Buiuio's Deivid Vinhas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deivid Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Sampaio in the 69th minute of play. Buiuio's Deivid Vinhas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Sampaio in the 73rd minute of play. Cidade Alta FC's Nestor Paraíba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Lopes in the 74th minute of play. Deivid Vinhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Sampaio in the 83rd minute of play. Angelo Coutinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Paraíba having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Lopes in the 87th minute of play forced Cidade Alta FC's goalkeeper Nestor Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deivid Vinhas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Sampaio in the 89th minute of the match. Cidade Alta FC's Edvaldo Bertassi got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cidade Alta FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Buiuio for a fine match.
