In the 5th minute, Maurício Garcia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 6 minutes into the game, Túlio Cavalcante was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marabitana AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ouvidor the free kick. The supporters of Ouvidor booed when Marabitana AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Cavalcante didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 11th minute, Frank Zonta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Haroldo Viana hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Maurício Garcia struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Hermínio Paes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ouvidor. In the 22nd minute Maurício Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermínio Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maurício Garcia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Paes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Neiva in the 30th minute of play forced Ouvidor's goalkeeper Fabiano Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ouvidor's goalkeeper Fabiano Alcântara, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Ronaldão Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Marabitana AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ronaldão Queiroz couldn't finish the play. Mauro Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabiano Alcântara having to interfere. After 43 minutes of play, Marabitana AD's Mauro Neiva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabiano Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Marabitana AD's zone, Juvenal Prestes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermínio Paes came out of the goal and Juvenal Prestes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 54th minute of the match Otávio Maciel sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hermínio Paes skillfully saved the ball. After a rather tough play, Marabitana AD's Túlio Cavalcante got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Mauro Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Neiva in the 59th minute of play forced Ouvidor's goalkeeper Fabiano Alcântara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Juvenal Prestes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Mauro Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Christian Britto hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ronaldão Queiroz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Marabitana AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldão Queiroz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabiano Alcântara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Haroldo Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hermínio Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurício Garcia in the 75th minute of the match. After 78 played minutes, Ouvidor's Otávio Maciel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Hermínio Paes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ouvidor reached it. Ronaldão Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Fabiano Alcântara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ouvidor's Fabiano Alcântara played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mauro Neiva in the 88th minute of play. 89 minutes into the match, Ouvidor's goal looked a bit too open when Mauro Neiva came free, but Fabiano Alcântara reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 89 minutes of play, Marabitana AD's Mauro Neiva made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabiano Alcântara was left in no man's land by his defense there! Hermínio Paes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurício Garcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
