Hermínio Paes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fernandão Figueiredo in the 35th minute of the match. Renato Baiano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauro Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ronaldão Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Renato Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Marabitana AD's Jeremias Pereira got a free kick in the 46th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mauro Neiva to make the kick off. In the 89th minute, Filipe Varela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Marabitana AD's Hermínio Paes got control of the ball when Cristóvão Guerra tried to sneak it across the goal line. Marabitana AD's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
