The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Espumoso SC booed when Mala.fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélio Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Nilton de Senna fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mala.fc's protests and gave Nilton de Senna a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Espumoso SC booed when Mala.fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton de Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorian Barral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathias Hoffmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. If Hugo Pinheiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tarcisio Saldanha got free with Elias de Godoi in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 25 played minutes Mala.fc got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Queirós. Jano Almeida received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Elias de Godoi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jano Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dito Gonçalves during the 34th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Espumoso SC's Dito Gonçalves got a free kick in the 34th minute. Teodoro Paraibano kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 45th minute Hugo Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dorian Barral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hugo Pinheiro was the one to do the kick off. Espumoso SC were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after Mala.fc's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Teodoro Paraibano took the corner. Elias de Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tarcisio Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Espumoso SC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Abelardo Pernambucano hit a great ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 73 minutes into the game, when Teodoro Paraibano put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Espumoso SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 73rd minute. Penalty! 81 minutes into the match, Mala.fc's Tarcisio Saldanha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Elias de Godoi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Tarcisio Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Jano Almeida notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Espumoso SC's Elias de Godoi. Elias de Godoi was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tarcisio Saldanha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elias de Godoi having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Espumoso SC's goalkeeper Elias de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Espumoso SC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mala.fc.
