Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Amadeu Vale started the match with the kick off. When Danilo Cosme fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mariquita's protests and gave Danilo Cosme a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Mariquita's Danilo Cosme got a free kick in the 3rd minute. In the 6th minute, Eliézer Sousa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Mariquita's zone, Alexsandro de Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sidnei das Neves came out of the goal and Alexsandro de Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pedro Paulo Leme struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Sidnei das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for BATATA FC. Eliézer Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Humberto Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sidnei das Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Pedro Paulo Leme's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. In the 22nd minute, Alexsandro de Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Paulo Leme in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sidnei das Neves saved Mariquita from getting behind. Pedro Paulo Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei das Neves having to interfere. Eliézer Sousa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Humberto Maranhense made a huge save. In the 31st match minute, BATATA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexsandro de Almeida to maneuver through the defense. After 34 played minutes Mariquita got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Gustavo Guedes. 35 minutes into the match, Mariquita's goal looked a bit too open when Jeferson Machado came free, but Sidnei das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute, Wanderson Secco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 40 minutes into the match, Pedro Paulo Leme had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sidnei das Neves. Mariquita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Paulo Leme was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. When BATATA FC's Pedro Paulo Leme in the 44th minute got a chance for a shot 44th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mariquita's goalie prevented a goal. If Alexsandro de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 47 minutes, Pedro Paulo Leme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. BATATA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pedro Paulo Leme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Paulo Leme to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute BATATA FC were awarded a corner. Jeferson Machado went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Jeferson Machado almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mariquita's Sidnei das Neves did a great save. In the 55th minute, Alexsandro de Almeida got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. BATATA FC's Alexsandro de Almeida got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, BATATA FC's Haroldo Vieira got a free kick in the 64th minute. In the 74th match minute, Mariquita was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Vale to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of BATATA FC booed when Mariquita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Amadeu Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 92 in the game by Pedro Paulo Leme from a close distance when the talented Sidnei das Neves managed to make a qualified save. Mariquita's players were relieved.
