The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Rogério Torres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. Nogueira EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aba SS the free kick. After a rather tough play, Nogueira EC's Edson Leal got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Aba SS's Edinho Penha got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Chicão Trancoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Pedro Paulo Machado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginaldo do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edmundo Terra having to interfere. A hard shot 40 in the game by Luiz Gustavo Favoretto from a close distance when the talented Pedro Paulo Machado managed to make a qualified save. Aba SS's players were relieved. Edmundo Terra came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Aba SS's Rogério Torres. But to his dismay, Rogério Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Reginaldo do Nascimento stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. César Mello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Paulo Machado having to interfere. If César Mello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th minute, César Mello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With 61 minutes on the clock, Belchior Ribeiro commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 61 minutes into the game, one of Nogueira EC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ramón Pinho placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 79 minutes into the game, Reginaldo do Nascimento recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Edmundo Terra. Reginaldo do Nascimento showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. With an all-out effort, Aba SS's Edmundo Terra threw himself towards the right post 86 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Reginaldo do Nascimento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edmundo Terra made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Rogério Torres sent off a good shot on target. Luiz Gustavo Favoretto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Paulo Machado having to interfere. Edson Leal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aba SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
