Dalmo França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Juliao were furious when Cícero Paes was red carded, 8 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 7th minute, one of Juliao:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Juliao. The referee gave Paraibuna EC a penalty, 10 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bruno Baptista, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Juliao's André Luís Amaral. 0-1. Lenílson Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 21st minute of the match Aluísio Félix shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but André Luís Amaral showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. André Luís Amaral took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dalmo França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Vítor Berger recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Juliao's André Luís Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Pinho in the 38th minute of play. If Dalmo França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Décio Matos hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Luiz Fábio Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Juliao's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fábio Schmidt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zé Pedro Breckenfeld breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

André Luís Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ademar Pinho in the 55th minute of the match. If Ademar Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gernando de Azevedo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Lenílson Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Pedro Breckenfeld having to interfere. Walmyr Vides scored 0-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Luís Amaral, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Juliao's André Luís Amaral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ademar Pinho in the 79th minute of play. Cesinha Alves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Zé Pedro Breckenfeld tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paraibuna EC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
