Ramiro Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Serginho Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Frederico Carioca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aiuruoca's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ibitira the free kick. After 26 played minutes Aiuruoca got a freekick which was hit by Tião Madureira. Frederico Carioca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serginho Lira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Zé Paulo da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Silvério Abraão having to interfere. Silvério Abraão stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zé Paulo da Mata's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. 46 minutes into the match, Aiuruoca's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Carioca came free, but Serginho Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 48th minute, Tião Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ramiro Mangueira struck a weak shot in the 49th minute. Serginho Lira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ibitira. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Zé Paulo da Mata made the kick off in the second half. Serginho Lira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Zé Paulo da Mata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Silvério Abraão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 60 played minutes Aiuruoca got a freekick which was hit by Eliézer Gerber. Vítor Mesquita was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frederico Carioca in the 63rd minute of play forced Aiuruoca's goalkeeper Serginho Lira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tião Madureira hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Serginho Lira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ramiro Mangueira went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Serginho Lira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramiro Mangueira in the 69th minute of play. Serginho Lira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ramiro Mangueira in the 72nd minute of the match. 73 minutes into the match, Aiuruoca's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico Carioca came free, but Serginho Lira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Zé Paulo da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frederico Carioca recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvério Abraão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo da Mata, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 96th minute, Perivaldo Prestes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Perivaldo Prestes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 99th minute. Serginho Lira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ibitira's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
