The referee felt a red card was in order, 7 minutes into the game, when Wilton Dracena put in a rough tackle. 6 minutes into the game, one of Coquiero FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 38th minute, Marcel da Mata hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Ibitira's Frederico Carioca slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Jorginho Breckenfeld. That made the score 3-0 after 39 minutes of play. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Perivaldo Prestes took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Jorginho Breckenfeld to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Coquiero FC's Marcel da Mata got a free kick in the 45th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Jorginho Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramiro Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. A collision led to Ibitira getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Perivaldo Prestes hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Coquiero FC's Moisés de Souza got a free kick in the 64th minute. Jorginho Breckenfeld showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico Carioca, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. In the 73rd match minute, Coquiero FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guga Britto to maneuver through the defense. Claudinho Barreto was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 78th minute. Coquiero FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The Coquiero FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jorginho Breckenfeld should have stopped the shot. Ibitira's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
