An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Hermes in the 12th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Acácio Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Acácio Simões didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jardel Hermes went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Kauã Novaes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 44 minutes, Jardel Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Várzea's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jardel Hermes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jardel Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Simões having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Juarês Fantini to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Hermes in the 55th minute of play forced Vila Zumbi's goalkeeper Acácio Simões to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Yuri Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. After 57 minutes, Jonathan Cardoso mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vila Zumbi and the Várzea players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Vila Zumbi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Várzea:s goal. When the match had been going on for 59 minutes, Várzea's Sílvio Luiz Paraibano got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Acácio Simões. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Juarês Fantini sped through Várzea's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Kauã Novaes. In the 70th minute, Guilherme Messias got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 74th minute Jardel Hermes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Acácio Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Várzea's Dito Bueno slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Acácio Simões. That made the score 1-4 after 75 minutes of play. The supporters of Vila Zumbi booed when Várzea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wágner Lucas hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 83rd minute, Jardel Hermes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Guilherme Messias took the ball and in the 88 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kauã Novaes. Kauã Novaes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-4. Wágner Lucas's late challenge caught a Vila Zumbi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wágner Lucas helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Wágner Lucas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the game, Dito Bueno cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-5. Acácio Simões was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Várzea could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Vila Zumbi throughout the match.
