Anapolandia's Aníbal Tavares got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Valério Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Anapolandia's Moisés dos Santos got a free kick in the 29th minute. Chicão Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kiko Pereira in the 35th minute of the match. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Valério Passos to make the kick off. When Benedito Guedes came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the MarcuSantos FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benedito Guedes couldn't finish the play. Chicão Mangueira stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kiko Pereira's shot from short distance in the 96th minute.
