Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Washington Favoretto made the kick off and thus started the match. Noel Hames scored 0-1 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teodoro Dracena, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Washington Favoretto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Bebeto de Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aírton Lucas's late challenge caught a Formosa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Aírton Lucas helped the player get up and apologised. 12 minutes into the match, Varginha F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Washington Favoretto came free, but Bebeto de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oscar Penha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Noel Hames sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Penha in the 18th minute of the match. Eurico Rossi charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eurico Rossi the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Eurico Rossi kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. 23 minutes into the game, Noel Hames cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Teodoro Dracena was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Varginha F.C.'s Bebeto de Queirós got control of the ball when Diogo Fontes tried to sneak it across the goal line. The Varginha F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 29th match minute when Varginha F.C.'s Noel Hames looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Noel Hames blasted a shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Teodoro Dracena having to make a save. 35 minutes into the game, Yan Moreno was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varginha F.C. the free kick. A collision led to Formosa getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Yan Moreno hit a great ball. Jefferson Gaspar struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Teodoro Dracena didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varginha F.C.. In the 38th minute, Angelo Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bebeto de Queirós made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Diogo Fontes sent off a good shot on target. Diogo Fontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Bebeto de Queirós when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Washington Favoretto in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bebeto de Queirós saved Varginha F.C. from getting behind. Hélio Fernandes kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. 48 minutes into the match, Varginha F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Washington Favoretto came free, but Bebeto de Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Varginha F.C. were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oscar Penha to make the kick off. Oscar Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Dracena having to interfere. Edmundo Maia's late challenge caught a Varginha F.C.'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmundo Maia helped the player get up and apologised. Edmundo Maia hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. 61 minutes into the game, Augusto Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Formosa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Varginha F.C. the free kick. Teodoro Dracena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Penha in the 63rd minute of play. Oscar Penha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teodoro Dracena having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Diogo Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formosa's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Fontes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bebeto de Queirós breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 77 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Formosa's Washington Favoretto fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. After 78 played minutes Varginha F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Rodrigues. Bebeto de Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diogo Fontes in the 81st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Noel Hames got free with Teodoro Dracena in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Noel Hames could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Teodoro Dracena made a huge save. Noel Hames received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Teodoro Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodoro Dracena came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Varginha F.C.'s Oscar Penha. But to his dismay, Oscar Penha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Varginha F.C. eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
