Lino Viana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cacimbinha AD. The long shot by Juninho Arruda in the 24th minute really tested Lino Viana's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Luís Guilherme de Souza hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Fernão Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Lino Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sport Club Imprensa - VAD getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Luís Guilherme de Souza hit a great ball. Luís Guilherme de Souza was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Enrique Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Viana having to interfere. After 34 played minutes Sport Club Imprensa - VAD got a freekick which was hit by Natã Baiano. Jarbas Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Galvão having to interfere. Enrique Quirino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lino Viana having to interfere. If Jarbas Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Cacimbinha AD's Fernão Tasso got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lino Viana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernão Tasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Fernão Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Lino Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Sport Club Imprensa - VAD getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Túlio Berger hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Sport Club Imprensa - VAD's zone, Enrique Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lino Viana came out of the goal and Enrique Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fernão Tasso took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lino Viana. Lino Viana dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enrique Quirino in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lino Viana saved Sport Club Imprensa - VAD from getting behind. Lino Viana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Quirino in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cacimbinha AD's Célio Soeiro got a free kick in the 77th minute. Enrique Quirino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Lino Viana tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Fernão Tasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Enrique Quirino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lino Viana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Enrique Quirino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jarbas Fontes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elói Galvão having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jarbas Fontes got free with Elói Galvão in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Jarbas Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Sport Club Imprensa - VAD's Lino Viana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Quirino in the 97th minute of play. Cacimbinha AD were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Sport Club Imprensa - VAD for a fine match.
