Pariry's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vassoural the free kick. After a rather tough play, Pariry's Ivo Sousa got a free kick in the 6th minute. After 7 played minutes Vassoural got a freekick which was hit by Váldson Barbosa. 13 minutes into the game, Mateus Nogueira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vassoural's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pariry the free kick. A collision led to Vassoural getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Mateus Nogueira hit a great ball. Vassoural's Fernando Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Quintal in the 15th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Laerte Coutinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vassoural's supporters rose to their feet, but Laerte Coutinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fernandão Varela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Vassoural's Jorginho Britto got a free kick in the 24th minute. After 37 played minutes Vassoural got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Motta. In the 39th minute, Vassoural's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Adelino Quintal fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With 44 minutes on the clock, Cléberson Penha commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 43 minutes into the game, one of Pariry:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Vassoural. Jorginho Britto stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fernandão Varela. 0-1. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ezequiel Breckenfeld was the one to do the kick off. If Manfredo Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
