Luisão Alcântara who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 7thth minute tested the skills of Ulisses de Azevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jorge Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Paulo Passos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Robinho Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses de Azevedo having to interfere. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jorge Félix showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jiquiri FC's Ulisses de Azevedo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Jiquiri FC from getting a goal against them. Luisão Alcântara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ulisses de Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 26 played minutes Jiquiri FC got a freekick which was hit by Sandrinho Palmeira. 27 minutes into the match, Jiquiri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Negri came free, but Ulisses de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Robinho Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luisão Alcântara in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ulisses de Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Wilton Peres fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Jiquiri FC's protests and gave Wilton Peres a yellow card for diving instead. After 39 played minutes Jiquiri FC got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho Moura. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Jiquiri FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Patrick Saldanha was slow to take the kick. During this time Brebe FC's players had a chance to rest. In the 43rd match minute, Brebe FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto Vaz to maneuver through the defense. Robinho Negri fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses de Azevedo having to interfere.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Oséas Carvalho to strike the kick off in the second half. Jorge Félix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oséas Carvalho in the 52nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Jiquiri FC's zone, Ernesto Vaz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses de Azevedo came out of the goal and Ernesto Vaz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luisão Alcântara struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Ulisses de Azevedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brebe FC. After a rather tough play, Jiquiri FC's Sandrinho Palmeira got a free kick in the 57th minute. Luisão Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Jiquiri FC booed when Brebe FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ernesto Vaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With his leg Jorge Félix managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when Jiquiri FC's Oséas Carvalho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Luisão Alcântara fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses de Azevedo having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Robinho Negri ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ulisses de Azevedo was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luisão Alcântara in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulisses de Azevedo saved Jiquiri FC from getting behind. Ulisses de Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robinho Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. The audience was convinced that Luisão Alcântara's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ulisses de Azevedo was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. 86 minutes into the match, Jiquiri FC's goal looked a bit too open when Robinho Negri came free, but Ulisses de Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Brebe FC's Robinho Negri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ulisses de Azevedo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Brebe FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Jiquiri FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
