In the 9th minute Reginaldo Sarmento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Severino Pirani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Ramalho didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 14th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. A collision led to Goianesia getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Reginaldo Sarmento hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Goianesia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Branco to maneuver through the defense. 27 minutes into the game, Umberto Neves cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Severino Pirani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Horácio Guerra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Ramalho having to interfere. When Reginaldo Sarmento came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Goianesia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Reginaldo Sarmento couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Almofada booed when Goianesia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mauro Messias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horácio Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Mané Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Umberto Neves to strike the kick off in the second half. Mané Ramalho came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Almofada's Benedito Meira. But to his dismay, Benedito Meira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. If Horácio Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Benedito Meira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mané Ramalho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Horácio Guerra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Mané Ramalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reginaldo Sarmento succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-2 in the 66th playminute. With a little luck, Almofada's Severino Pirani got control of the ball when Reginaldo Sarmento tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reginaldo Sarmento struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Severino Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Goianesia. Mané Ramalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedito Meira in the 91st minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Charles Branco had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedrão Pimenta during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 94th match minute, Almofada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Pimenta to maneuver through the defense. Reginaldo Sarmento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Severino Pirani didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reginaldo Sarmento went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Goianesia walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
