Sandrinho Velloso ran back to his position shaking his head. After 11 minutes, Ronaldão Duarte mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Liverpool FC and the Granito RS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cafu Borges hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Aílton Zonta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Fabiano Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Aílton Zonta to strike the kick off in the second half. Sandrinho Velloso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 57th minute of the match, but Luís Fabiano Souza made a huge save. A collision led to Granito RS getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Olívio Nunes hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anderson Eger during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 68 minutes into the match, André Luiz Britto notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Liverpool FC's Luís Fabiano Souza. Luís Fabiano Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Cafu Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute.
