In the 23rd match minute, Razeirense B was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Prata to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Razeirense B getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Hermínio Peixoto hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Eliézer Arósio made a precise shot to the right of Anderson Pinho. Cruzeiro's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tibúrcio Dias got free with Cléber Faria in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Américo Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Américo Abreu came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Cruzeiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Américo Abreu couldn't finish the play. When Sebastião Meirelles fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Razeirense B were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Cruzeiro's much stronger midfield.
