The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 11 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's Basílio Arruda sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Roberto Gomes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 14 minutes into the match, SÂO BERNArDO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Urbano came free, but Roberto Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Roberto Gomes managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Grêmio FBPA's Basílio Arruda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 17th minute the ball was on its way in behind SÂO BERNArDO FC's goalkeeper Roberto Gomes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Moisés Teles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roberto Gomes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In a very dangerous position, a player in SÂO BERNArDO FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 19th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Grêmio FBPA a penalty, 21 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ronaldinho Custódio, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SÂO BERNArDO FC's Roberto Gomes. 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Walmyr Vidal in the 24th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Leonardo Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With his leg Roberto Gomes managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Grêmio FBPA's Basílio Arruda fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute of the match Grêmio FBPA got a corner. SÂO BERNArDO FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. When Basílio Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Grêmio FBPA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Arruda couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute Leonel Urbano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roberto Gomes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldinho Custódio's late challenge caught a SÂO BERNArDO FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ronaldinho Custódio helped the player get up and apologised. Ronaldinho Custódio kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. Walmyr Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonardo Moraes having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adilson Leite during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Adilson Leite hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tales Teles in the 46th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Leonardo Moraes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tales Teles was the one to do the kick off. Basílio Arruda recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Délio Valladares hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Roberto Gomes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio Arruda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 63 minutes into the match, SÂO BERNArDO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leonel Urbano came free, but Roberto Gomes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonardo Moraes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tales Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Leonel Urbano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Gomes having to interfere. A collision led to SÂO BERNArDO FC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Délio Valladares hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the match, Basílio Arruda notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of SÂO BERNArDO FC's Roberto Gomes. Roberto Gomes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Moisés Teles hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. William Prata kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. When Grêmio FBPA's Basílio Arruda in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SÂO BERNArDO FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 96thth minute of the game Basílio Arruda who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SÂO BERNArDO FC's Roberto Gomes was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grêmio FBPA's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
