Gilson Vidal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luís Mangueira having to make a save. 16 minutes into the match, Laguna Sunrise's goal looked a bit too open when Gilson Vidal came free, but Luís Mangueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Aloísio Passos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Anísio Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the game, Fiori Tavares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gabriellemes FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Laguna Sunrise the free kick. The referee gave Laguna Sunrise a penalty, 24 minutes into the game. Laguna Sunrise were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Gabriellemes FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tales Ribeiro took the corner. In the 55th minute Laguna Sunrise were awarded a corner. Tales Ribeiro went to the cornerflag to take it. Laguna Sunrise's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tales Ribeiro in the 57th minute. Vivaldo Torres's late challenge caught a Gabriellemes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vivaldo Torres helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Laguna Sunrise getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Vivaldo Torres hit a great ball. Aloísio Passos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Anísio Mendes came out and tried to block the shot, but Aloísio Passos slotted it home off the left post making it 0-2 in the 71st minute. Anísio Mendes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Erasmo Galvão in the 76th minute. The supporters of Laguna Sunrise booed when Gabriellemes FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilson Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Aloísio Passos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 96 minutes, Elói Falcão mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Laguna Sunrise and the Gabriellemes FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Elói Falcão hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. The Gabriellemes FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Laguna Sunrise were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
